Haiku’s Accra

by Epifania Amoo-Adar

Sun rays fill a
sad heart evaporating
into mists of hope.

Forget me not, my
dwindling passion, before
bitter winds return.

Palm nut tree, sway me
in the rhythms of your
tender beat of love.

Sea breeze rides the waves,
cresting, whites up the rocks,
hard surface of pain.

Mellow year ended
in tropical balms; so pure,
yet rude, its allure.
