 Editor's Greeting

Welcome to the third edition of Mosaic 2.0, our semiannual online journal. We accept creative and non-creative writing and photography from contributors anywhere in the world. Sometimes, an issue will focus on a specific theme, but usually the entries are eclectic in nature.

This edition contains creative short fiction and poetry, with entries that range from the playful to the funeral. Malik Person’s poem “Just Give Me Another Planet” uses lyrical elements (close to rap in some ways) to protest against the degenerative state of our global society, while Reynold Philips uses the double semantics of keyboard commands humorously in “A Key Prayer.” Wade Kearly’s “Why the Moon Could Fall Out of Orbit” returns us to the cosmos and the possibilities of spiritual enlightenment.

On the narrative side, “Autumn Madness,” by Epifania Amoo-Adare, is about the supernatural effects of a visit by a diabolic avatar, and has a light-hearted subtext. However, two stories by Deepti Nair, “Deceptions” and “One Summer Tale,” bring us into the realm of detective fiction and are really novels in miniature; each can be easily expanded through detailed scenes and plots into full-length fiction. Finally, “A Funeral Pyre,” by Joanne Divine, is a touching appreciation of life, a requiem of sorts about the invaluable friendships that underpin our lives.
