About the Writers

Matthias Krug

Matthias Krug is a writer born in Qatar and currently based in Madrid, where he is completing his first novel entitled ‘Selfishness’. He has written and photographed for prestigious newspapers and publications across six continents, including a wide range of US and international literary magazines which have taken a liking to his unique style of short stories. Hari Subbiah

Hari Subbiah is a student studying in grade 9 in Birla Public School in Doha. He lives in Mansoura, Doha along with his parents and sister. He has been writing stories and poems since he was a kid and still loves doing so. He is from India. Having lived in many countries, he feels fortunate to have been exposed to many cultures. This is the first time his writing has been made available to a wider audience.


Alan Weber, PhD

Assistant Professor, Writing

Dr. Alan S. Weber is an Assistant Professor of English who teaches the first-year Writing
Seminar in humanities in the Pre-medical Program at Weill Cornell Medical College in
Qatar (WCMC-Q). Dr. Weber previously taught literature, writing, and the history of
science and medicine at Cornell University, Ithaca, The Pennsylvania State University,
and Elmira College. His research interests include language, history, and the social and
cultural dimensions of science and medicine. He is the editor of 19th Century Science
(2000), and Because It's There: A Celebration of Mountaineering Literature (2001), and
is the author of specialized publications on Shakespeare, women in medicine, and 17th Century medicine.
